Our Story
Black British Street Food

Initially launched in 2019, we're back stronger for 2025 to reimagine Black British Cuisine. We aim to rebel against the pigeonholing of the food industry and to spread happiness and inspiration through culinary creativeness that has no limits in what we can create or become.
From our History as black people of Britain, a culture was born which makes waves on the global stage today with the likes of Stormzy, Skepta, Daniel Kaluuya leading the charge and taking Black British culture into the mainstream. But when we think of culture, what do we mean? Culture can be characterised by the arts which the aforementioned are thriving in but what about another pillar of culture, food?
Alongside, if not more so than music, food is the most significant pillar of any community and Black Britain is no different. Many would claim the culinary excellence of one of their relatives has no parallel in existence and I uphold that Caribbean food is my favourite global cuisine of all. However, it is not a regular in many British households when eating out or ordering in, why? Caribbean food already takes the best food from around the world and puts a spin on it. Despite this, many people protest the idea of altering traditional recipes and any attempt to innovate and modernise any dish is a crime.
We aim to change this. Real rap is music that resonates and spreads far because it resonates with people and is authentic to the artist. We want to do the same with the creative process of cooking. We are influenced by my Guyanese, Jamaican and global heritage but not limited by it with a goal of creating the best possible food.
